A short drive still deserves a complete plan
Aspen/Pitkin County Airport, known as ASE, puts travelers about ten minutes from downtown Aspen in good conditions. That proximity is useful, but it is not the same as being at your hotel ten minutes after touchdown. Passengers still need to leave the aircraft, collect belongings and meet their vehicle. Build the transfer around when your party can realistically be ready, particularly if ski bags, young children or separate flights are involved.
We are open 24/7 for early departures and late arrivals, and we arrange commercial and private airport transportation without treating every arrival as the same kind of trip.
Commercial arrivals: start with the flight and bags
For a commercial arrival, send the airline, flight number, date and destination along with a reachable passenger contact. Tell us whether everyone is on the same flight and whether the group will wait for checked bags. A shared arrival can become two separate movements if one family lands much later; identify that possibility before deciding whether one vehicle and one pickup window suit the group.
Confirm your meeting instructions during booking and keep the contact details accessible when you land. Do not assume a driver can wait at any terminal door or that a vehicle will be in the first position you see outside. If your plans change, communicate the new information rather than heading to a different meeting point without coordination. The objective is an agreed handoff, not a search around the terminal with ski bags.
Private arrivals use a different handoff
Private aviation pickups at ASE are coordinated around Atlantic Aviation. The chauffeur waits in the FBO lobby with a name sign; a planeside meeting takes place only when the FBO and airport security allow. Private jet service includes flight tracking, warmed vehicles before arrival and handling of skis, boards and luggage. Child seats are available on request, with requirements supplied ahead of time.
An executive assistant or flight crew can provide the arrival details, but the traveling party should know the same meeting plan. If an aircraft diverts, private jet arrangements are re-routed without re-booking; the alternate airport still changes the length and logistics of the drive. For detailed private aviation planning and dedicated ski-week chauffeur arrangements, use our flagship private jet car service page rather than assuming a standard airport transfer covers the entire stay.
Choose seats and luggage space together
Black Escalade, Suburban and Navigator SUVs accommodate up to six passengers. Executive Sprinters accommodate nine to thirteen and suit airport travel with ski luggage. Share an actual luggage inventory, including skis, boards, large cases and strollers. A seat count does not establish whether everyone's belongings fit comfortably, and an empty seat may not solve an oversized equipment problem. Ask for the vehicle recommendation before finalizing the group arrangement.
For other group formats, Sprinter limo and party vans seat fourteen to sixteen, with a black fourteen-passenger and white sixteen-passenger option. Stretch limos accommodate ten to twenty, party buses twenty to forty with some up to roughly fifty, and motor coaches forty to fifty-six. Choose around the journey's purpose as well as capacity: an airport arrival with bulky gear has different needs from an evening celebration with small bags.
From ASE to Aspen, Snowmass and down valley
Use about ten minutes as a good-condition guide from ASE to downtown Aspen. For onward planning, Aspen to Snowmass Village is about twenty minutes, Aspen to Basalt about thirty minutes, Aspen to Carbondale about forty minutes and Aspen to Glenwood Springs about an hour. Those latter figures start in Aspen, not at the airport; request a route-specific estimate for your exact address rather than adding or subtracting minutes yourself.
We serve guests of The Little Nell, Hotel Jerome, The St. Regis Aspen, The Limelight, W Aspen, Aspen Meadows and Viceroy Snowmass. We are independent and not affiliated with any hotel. Private-residence trips can include Red Mountain, Starwood and Snowmass Village. Provide the entrance, access instructions and receiving contact where appropriate, especially if an unfamiliar address or driveway makes the final part of the trip less straightforward.
Winter readiness and the return flight
Winter tires are fitted all ski season, and WiFi is available in every vehicle. Neither changes the fact that snow and road conditions can add significant time. Avoid scheduling a firm restaurant seating or equipment appointment immediately after the expected arrival. On the return, work backward from your airline's or flight crew's requested arrival time, then allow for luggage loading, road conditions and the drive from your actual accommodation.
If your stay includes a move between Aspen and Snowmass or a final night down valley, make sure the return pickup address reflects that change. Give us the full itinerary instead of relying on the arrival reservation to describe the departure automatically. A different passenger count, added ski bags or a changed flight time can affect the vehicle and schedule even when the route looks similar on a map.
Understand the reservation before confirming
Black SUVs range from $125–$200 per hour; Sprinter limo vans range from $200–$350 per hour, depending on size and season. Most bookings have a four-hour minimum. Prom, homecoming and high-season Friday–Sunday bookings have a six-hour minimum. A ten-minute airport drive does not mean a ten-minute charge. Ask for a FREE custom estimate covering your date, vehicle, route and service hours, with the applicable minimum clearly understood.
Your rate is locked in when you book, with no surge pricing, and chauffeur gratuity is not included. Text (970) 672-0787 and we'll text you back, call (970) 818-2489, or email reservations@phatlimo.com. Hablamos español. If traveling during the announced 2027 ASE runway closure, start with our closure guide and confirm arrangements with your airline or the airport before requesting a pickup tied to an ASE flight.
