Aspen Mountain starts in town, not at a remote parking lot
Aspen Mountain puts its principal base at the edge of downtown Aspen. That is the defining transportation advantage: skiers can finish near restaurants and shops instead of facing a long drive before dinner. It is also the complication. A convenient map pin does not automatically identify a legal loading place, a waiting area or an entrance your entire group can reach comfortably in ski boots. Confirm the meeting point before the first morning.
The official 2026–27 Aspen Mountain season dates are November 26, 2026–April 18, 2027, with closing as conditions allow. Treat those dates as a planning window, not a guarantee that every lift or run operates each day. Check the mountain’s current information before departure, particularly around opening week and spring closing. A chauffeur reservation does not include lift tickets, lessons or priority mountain access.
Morning drop-off around the Silver Queen Gondola
Work backward from the first real appointment: a lesson check-in, rental fitting or the time your group wants to be ready at the base. A first chair aspiration is different from a lesson deadline. Allow separate time for unloading, walking, fastening boots and finding the right meeting area. Confirm current loading instructions near the Silver Queen Gondola instead of assuming the vehicle can remain directly beside the base.
For guests staying downtown, walking may be easier than a dedicated ride on a particular morning. Private transportation becomes more useful when your party is spread across residences, includes children with equipment or wants a coordinated return later. Tell us which entrance your accommodation uses and whether stairs, an icy path or a narrow street could slow boarding. Short driving distances do not eliminate the need for an organized departure.
A ski-week chauffeur for changing plans
A dedicated ski-week chauffeur can connect the arrival day, repeated ski mornings, afternoon collections and dinner reservations within an agreed schedule. Give us the full week rather than booking isolated trips before the rest of the itinerary exists. Note who is skiing each day, who may stay in town and whether an afternoon pickup needs to return to the residence before a second outing.
Confirm which hours are reserved, whether the vehicle waits or returns at a scheduled time, and how a changed pickup affects the booking. Dedicated service should never be read as unlimited, unpriced availability. If some guests switch to Snowmass or Highlands, request that movement explicitly. Keeping one shared itinerary prevents a downtown shopping return from conflicting with the rest of the party’s mountain pickup.
Skis, boot bags and a comfortable ride home
Count passengers and equipment separately. A six-person group with skis, boards, helmets and several boot bags can need a different vehicle from six people going to dinner. Black SUVs accommodate up to six passengers, while an Executive Sprinter accommodates 9–13 depending on the configuration; ski luggage must be reviewed before selecting either. Larger passenger capacities do not automatically describe usable equipment space.
Pack street shoes where they can be reached at the end of the day, and label similar bags before loading. Tell us about rentals that need returning, children’s equipment and anyone who needs additional boarding time. Keeping the loading order consistent makes it easier to discover a missing bag at the residence rather than at the gondola. Do not assume equipment can be left unattended in a vehicle outside the contracted service period.
Après pickup is a meeting time, not just a lift time
A downtown finish can turn into a late lunch, shopping stop or a longer après gathering. Choose a realistic pickup window and one person to communicate with the chauffeur. The agreed meeting place may differ from the morning drop-off because curb availability and pedestrian activity change. Ask the group to be assembled with its equipment before the vehicle approaches; a loading zone is not a place for an extended reunion.
If part of the group wants to leave early, decide in advance whether that means a separate vehicle or an additional contracted trip. Do not make children or tired skiers wait while other guests extend après without a plan. For a dinner reservation, add time to return, change and regroup. A short downtown journey can still become rushed when everyone expects to shower during the same narrow gap.
Dinner runs, spring flights and booking details
Dinner transportation can start at a private residence and end at a different downtown pickup point after the meal. Provide the restaurant name, reservation time, guest count and a realistic return window. If the plan includes alcohol, reserve the ride home before the evening starts. Tell us whether ski gear will remain at the accommodation so the dinner vehicle can be matched to people rather than the morning equipment load.
Late-season visitors should also review the announced 2027 ASE closure: the airport closes at 11 p.m. on April 4 and reopens at 7 p.m. on November 19, with no flights in or out. This overlaps Aspen Mountain’s scheduled final weeks. Confirm arrangements with your airline and the airport, and request a separate ground-transfer plan if using Eagle, Grand Junction or Denver.
We are open 24/7. Hablamos español. Every vehicle has WiFi, and vehicles have winter tires all ski season.
